Help password managers help people

Annotation

Franta, a former web designer, passed away at the age of 99.999, when his refresh rate dropped well below 1 µHz. So he set off for heaven, but at the gates of heaven he was stopped by Saint Peter, who asked in surprise, “What’s with the delay?”

Franta, quite annoyed after a long journey in second class: “What do you mean, late?”

Saint Peter replies: “Well, I’ve been expecting you ever since AI took away the jobs of everyone like you.”

“Yeah, that’s late,” Franta yawns, “back then I helped those AIs out somehow, so I was in their good graces.”

“How? Come on, tell me,” St. Peter blurts out unexpectedly. Franta, hesitantly: “Oh, well, if you’re not going to let me in without this, then… I added some autocomplete attribute or something to the HTML code of the login screen; I don’t really remember it anymore. And then their password manager worked properly. I just helped the machines, which at first were helping people too, but then things kind of went wrong.”

Saint Peter slips a bracelet onto Franta’s wrist with the inscription “All Inclusive Double Mega 3001” and bows respectfully: “Welcome! We’re glad you’re here.”

Be like Franta—help those machines so they can help others. HTML attributes, tricks, security, UX, and all those things that come in handy when using and building websites, until the userless era arrives.
