How can we harness the power of collaboration? Eureka! Mobbing, pairing, hackathons
Annotation
You probably know me best as a developer who focuses on technical topics. Lately, I’ve also had to make sure we meet all our deadlines. We were looking for ways to streamline our work and improve its quality. We started implementing several techniques during the development process, and they’ve yielded positive results. I’d like to convince you that pair programming and team reviews are the right path for you, too. Over the past year, we’ve had to finalize and deliver some really big projects at Heureka. As part of our front-end development, I organized several internal hackathons aimed at creating a new UI library for a new platform. I had to plan and efficiently manage time for 20 people. We always had a few hours allocated to complete specific tasks in international teams scattered not only across the country but throughout Europe. From my talk, you’ll take away inspiration on how to incorporate pairing, mob programming, and hackathons into your team processes. I’ll show you how we approached it and what to watch out for.
